Upcoming talks about Lund Innovation District

In Lund there are science parks such as Medicon Village, Ideon and Science Village, a highly ranked universities, MAX IV and ACES, a municipality working on climate neutrality and many both small and large companies. There is deep specialization here and it is an excellent basis for the work with the Lund Innovation District, where actors in different constellations will work to find both cross-links between different activities and to fill in any gaps that may exist in order for the innovation ecosystem to function as well as possible. The work is done to find solutions to the great challenges of our time in a dynamic society, where the proximity and the possibility of collaboration between different knowledge-dense activities are taken into account.
- Since spring 2023, we have been working to collect data on Lunds as an innovation district in various ways and to mobilize stakeholders, says Charlotte Lorentz Hjorth, CEO of Future by Lund. We will continue to do this in 2024 and then make a joint implementation where everyone does what they do best so that we can get the combined power of everyone's work towards an innovation district. The aim is for Lund to become an internationally established innovation district, recognised as a place where unique development takes place and where international actors and individuals seek themselves and where ideas and people are connected internationally.
This is how the preliminary plan for upcoming events in 2024 looks like:
November 21 International community building and governance of Lund Innovation District
Actions to develop Lund Innovation District and achieve “Global impact within walking distance”
The talks will be conducted in collaboration with speakers, debaters and partners and therefore there may be changes to the programme over time.
When the details of the respective events are clear, it is good to register with asa.grunning@futurebylund.se. You can also sign up now to receive a mailing with an invitation via info@futurebylund.se
How does Lund work with its innovation district? Lund University and Lund Municipality have commissioned Future by Lund and partners to catalyze the work to co-create Lund as an international innovation district. The work is done, among other things, to enable us in Lund to increase our capacity to solve complex and shared challenges. The work is based on a steering group consisting of Anders Almgren, Chairman of Lund Municipal Board, Pia Kinhult, ESS and Kristina Eneroth, Vice Rector at Lund University.
